Keeping The Great British Spring Clean Sustainable

The Great British Spring Clean, an annual event run by the UK-based independent environmental charity ‘Keep Britain Tidy', aims to inspire and mobilise volunteers across the UK to go out and help clean up not only their villages, towns and cities but also rivers and beaches.

The charity wanted to find a partner who shared the same common goals of embracing the environment and preventing waste and who had the capacity to manufacture in the UK refuse sacks made from 100% recycled plastic.

The Great British Spring Clean partnered with RPC bpi recycled products as its sole supplier of refuse sacks for the 2018 campaign. The partnering showed how the charity could be sustainable in its campaign and support second life products made from recycled plastic.

RPC bpi recycled products were able to showcase the company’s environmental stewardship by providing 250,000 blue branded refuse sacks, exclusively manufactured from post-consumer retail packaging at their state of the art recycling and manufacturing site in Heanor, Derbyshire.

Over 370,000 volunteers took part in the event across 13,500 events and around 600 local authorities, towns and parish councils also participated.
